Job Overview

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This role involves working the day shift to support the operational activities within the plant, engaging in both floor and laboratory tasks. A foundational understanding of industrial plant operations is essential, along with a strong mechanical aptitude to effectively handle large-scale equipment in a dual research and production setting, typical of sectors such as fuel ethanol, feed manufacturing, and soy processing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in the management of ICM Ventures Inc's plant operations as directed by the operational team.
  2. Utilize and comprehend the plant operations via a Man-Machine Interface (MMI) system.
  3. Collect samples from plant streams to monitor operational conditions.
  4. Make critical observations necessary for the enhancement, troubleshooting, and modification of processes and products.
  5. Maintain accurate logs of operational conditions.
  6. Conduct sampling of process streams for further analysis.
  7. Communicate effectively with staff, laboratory technicians, and nutritionists regarding the status of plant operations.
  8. Foster a collaborative environment with operations and other departments.
  9. Maintain comprehensive plant records and prepare written reports as required.
  10. Input data into various software applications such as Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as other company-specific operational software.
  11. Adhere to all safety regulations set forth by ICM Ventures Inc and OSHA.
  12. Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas and the plant.
  13. Exhibit a willingness to undertake additional responsibilities as necessary to contribute to the growth of ICM Ventures Inc.
  14. Ensure the production of safe animal feed while complying with internal policies and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with completion of specialized training or vocational studies.

Required Skills & Experience:

Prior experience in production or plant operations within the ethanol, enzymes, pharmaceutical, or biochemical industries is preferred.

Familiarity with mechanical equipment used in fermentation pilot and production facilities is advantageous.

Experience with plant process control systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, humid conditions, and handling of chemicals. The ability to stand and walk for extended periods during plant operations is required. Clear communication in English is necessary, along with fine visual acuity for accuracy in reading.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

The role may require frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
