Job Summary

Soliant Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services to elementary school students in the Essex, VT area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct individual and group psychoeducational assessments to identify the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs of elementary school students.
  • Report Development: Develop and interpret psychological reports with recommendations for interventions and support strategies specifically designed for the elementary school learning environment.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with general and special education teachers, administrators, and parents to create effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans for students with diverse needs in elementary school.
  • Counseling and Support: Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address students' social-emotional needs, including anxiety, depression, and peer relationships, focusing on strategies to promote success throughout their elementary school years.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date on best practices in school psychology with a focus on the elementary school developmental stage and participate in professional development opportunities to maintain expertise in supporting young learners.
Requirements
  • Licensure: Vermont State School Psychologist License.
  • Experience: Prior experience working in a school setting with an elementary school student population is highly preferred.
  • Assessment Skills: Strong assessment skills in the areas of intellectual functioning, academic achievement, social-emotional development, and behavior specific to elementary school students.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with young students, parents, and school staff in a developmentally appropriate way.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
  • Collaboration: Collaborative and team-oriented approach with a commitment to student success in the elementary school years.
  • Child Development: Strong understanding of child development and learning theories specifically focused on the elementary school age range.
  • Evidence-Based Interventions: Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and best practices in school psychology tailored to the needs of elementary school students.
