Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in Severe, All Levels or Moderate Disabilities 5-12
  • SEI Endorsement
  • Additional content area licensure is encouraged
  • Familiarity with current education legislation and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience in an urban educational setting preferred
  • Understanding of institutional and structural racism and its impact on underserved communities

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver diagnostic, prescriptive, and evaluative services for students with identified needs.
  • Design and implement standards-based lesson plans and IEP objectives.
  • Engage in Benchmark Assessments and ongoing Progress Monitoring.
  • Analyze student achievement data to inform instructional strategies.
  • Provide targeted small group instruction.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with educators and specialists to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Employ a variety of instructional strategies tailored to different learning styles.
  • Model effective teaching practices and ABA techniques.
  • Organize instructional materials and resources effectively.
  • Manage time efficiently.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by school leadership.
  • Uphold high standards and expectations for all students.

Employment Terms:

  • As negotiated with the school committee and teachers' union.
  • 180 days per academic year.
