Mobile Refrigeration Technician

Department: Service Location: Billings, MT

Interstate Power Systems is seeking skilled Mobile Refrigeration Technicians for our operations. The primary responsibility of a Refrigeration Technician is to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of refrigeration systems used in commercial trucks and trailers. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of Carrier refrigeration systems and demonstrate strong troubleshooting abilities.

Key Responsibilities of the Refrigeration Technician

Conduct troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on various refrigeration units. A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with tractor-trailer maintenance is preferred. Specialized training in the overhaul of refrigeration components is essential. Proficient use of all necessary tools is required. Accurately diagnose complex engine issues and perform necessary repairs. Effectively communicate with colleagues and service teams regarding repairs. Ensure quality control of work performed to maximize customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate paperwork and submit upon job completion. Meet certification requirements as necessary.

Position Requirements

Valid Driver's license (additional compensation for CDL holders). Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability are essential. Perform maintenance services focusing on refrigeration units such as Carrier and/or Thermo King equipment. Ability to test lines and components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment. Read and interpret complex schematics related to refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Identify warrantable repairs and document them accurately. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Conduct road tests when necessary to diagnose issues or confirm proper functionality. Possess a thorough understanding of Carrier Refrigeration systems. Experience with Thermo King systems is advantageous. Additional mechanical skills in areas such as hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and transmissions are beneficial but not mandatory. This role emphasizes customer satisfaction, accurate diagnostics, and efficient repairs. If you possess these qualities, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.
