Position Overview: This role is based in the Billings, Montana branch of Manitowoc and reports directly to the Service Manager.

Sign-On Bonus: Candidates selected for this position will be eligible for a $3,500 sign-on bonus, payable after 90 days of continuous employment, along with access to our Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot a variety of mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes, as well as other construction machinery.
  • Work independently and efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Conduct thorough and precise annual inspections.
  • Accurately complete work reports, time sheets, and expense reports.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED, with at least two (2) years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician, or a two-year technical diploma from an accredited vocational institution.
  • Experience with various mobile crane equipment, particularly Grove RT & TMS Cranes; Grove GMK European Cranes; Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes; National Boom Trucks preferred, or equivalent experience with other major brands of mobile cranes and construction equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for job assignments and training.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer relations.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.

  • Utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as per company policy.
  • Adhere to established safety and health procedures and protocols.
  • Actively engage in safety training and demonstrate proficiency based on training received.
  • Report safety concerns, unsafe practices, and suggestions for improvement to management.

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position with typical working hours from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.

The physical demands of this role include the ability to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and noise. Employees may be required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
