Mobile Crane Technician

Position Overview: This role is essential for maintaining and servicing mobile cranes and various construction machinery.

Location: This position is based at the Billings, Montana branch of Manitowoc.

Sign-On Bonus: Successful candidates will be eligible for a $3,500 sign-on bonus after completing 90 days of continuous service, along with access to a Tool Reimbursement Program of up to $1,500 per calendar year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot a variety of mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes, as well as other construction equipment.
  • Work independently and efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Conduct thorough and precise annual inspections.
  • Accurately complete work reports, time sheets, and expense reports.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED with at least two years of experience as a Mechanic/Technician, or a two-year technical diploma from an accredited vocational institution.
  • Experience with various mobile crane equipment, particularly Grove RT & TMS Cranes, Grove GMK European Cranes, Manitowoc EPIC and/or Traditional Cranes, and National Boom Trucks is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for job sites and training.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer/client relations.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.

Working Conditions: This is a full-time position with typical hours from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs. The role involves working in environments with exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, and loud noises. Physical demands include frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds and various physical activities such as climbing, balancing, and kneeling.
