Key Responsibilities of the Refrigeration Technician
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all types of refrigeration units. A minimum of 6 years of practical experience with tractor-trailer maintenance is strongly preferred. Specialized training and experience in the overhaul of refrigeration components are required. Proficient use of all necessary tools of the trade is essential. Accurately diagnose complex engine conditions and perform necessary repairs. Effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and service teams regarding repairs. Ensure quality control of work performed to maximize customer satisfaction. Maintain updated paperwork upon completion of tasks. Meet certification requirements.Position Requirements
Valid Driver's license (additional compensation for CDL holders). A strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability are essential. Perform all levels of maintenance services, focusing on refrigeration units such as Carrier and/or Thermo King commercial refrigeration equipment. Ability to test lines, components, and connections using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment. Read and interpret complex schematics related to refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. Identify warrantable repairs and document them on repair orders. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Conduct road tests on vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or ensure proper functionality. Must have a comprehensive understanding of Carrier Refrigeration systems. Experience with other platforms such as Thermo King is a plus. Additional mechanical skills such as Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, and Drive Train, and Automatic Transmissions are desirable but not mandatory. This role is driven by customer satisfaction, diagnostic accuracy, and efficient repairs. If you possess these qualities, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.
