Position: Applied Service Sales Team Leader


The Applied Service Sales Team Leader plays a crucial role in meeting revenue and profit objectives while fostering sustainable growth through the acquisition of maintenance contracts, service project proposals, and repair services. This role also encompasses securing building automation initiatives, comprehensive project solutions, and enhancing existing infrastructure with a primary focus on Applied Equipment. Success in this position will involve both individual contributions and team leadership, ensuring alignment with Havtech's commitment to exceptional customer service throughout the sales and project execution phases involving HVAC systems, building automation, and mechanical contracting services.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying and nurturing relationships with prospective clients.
  • Maintaining and enhancing relationships with current clients.
  • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of all Havtech services and products.
  • Implementing account management strategies for key customers.
  • Creating and executing targeted action plans to boost project closure rates and profitability within the Applied Equipment sector.
  • Preparing necessary estimates and proposals as needed.
  • Evaluating and assigning leads related to Applied Equipment opportunities.
  • Building networks and engaging with professional organizations to generate new opportunities.
  • Collaborating with Vertical Market Leaders to communicate Havtech's capabilities in Applied Equipment.
  • Leading or supporting coordinated sales efforts across multiple Havtech sales teams.
  • Analyzing market trends relevant to Applied Equipment.
  • Facilitating relationships at various levels within client organizations.
  • Gathering and relaying essential project information to operations to ensure successful project completion and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinating site reviews as necessary.
  • Adhering to and promoting all Havtech safety protocols.
  • Confirming project scope and materials with clients.
  • Assisting in the collection of Accounts Receivable as required.
  • Determining effective selling strategies and pricing for team members involved in Applied Equipment opportunities.
  • Presenting proposals and negotiating terms with clients.
  • Staying informed about local utility incentive programs and leveraging rebates to enhance project closure rates or margins.
  • Creating additional incentives to motivate performance within the Applied Equipment sector.
  • Following up with decision-makers to secure orders.
  • Engaging in project execution processes as necessary.
  • Addressing scope deviations with clients to maintain a positive client experience.
  • Regularly assessing customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Fostering positive relationships with Havtech leadership and team members.
  • Establishing measurable metrics to track growth in the Applied Equipment service market.
  • Developing and leading a Rental Equipment initiative within the Applied Equipment market.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This role will involve supervisory duties within the first year of employment.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and mentoring Account Managers as the business grows, while also managing the strategic development of their teams.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years in HVAC sales or a related technical field.
  • Previous sales experience with an OEM HVAC company is preferred.
  • Strong sales acumen and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in customer relations and presentation skills.
  • Basic proficiency in a Windows environment and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel within a defined region, approximately 50% of the time, with minimal overnight travel.
  • Ability to work independently and achieve results.
