Position Title: Resident Service Coordinator

Salary: $21 per hour

Location: Lakeview Apartments

Role Summary:

The Resident Service Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in affordable housing settings. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about empowering residents, particularly those who are frail or at risk, to maintain their independence and make informed choices regarding their care. The Coordinator serves as a crucial link between residents and community resources, ensuring that residents receive the necessary support to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough, non-clinical evaluations of residents to identify wellness and social needs.
  • Assist residents in navigating and accessing essential services, including personal care, while ensuring ongoing communication with service providers.
  • Encourage resident engagement in their care and services management through motivational support.
  • Design and implement educational and preventative health initiatives tailored for residents.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with local agencies, community service providers, and stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain an updated directory of local resources and service providers.
  • Exhibit professionalism through effective communication and exceptional customer service within the property management team.

Daily Expectations:

  • Accurately manage daily online time card entries.
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with property management.
  • Participate in monthly departmental meetings.
  • Utilize an online documentation system to record resident case management activities.
  • Understand and navigate local, state, and federal benefits and entitlements.
  • Comply with HUD training and continuing education requirements.
  • Travel locally for community networking and attend relevant conferences as required.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards and HUD reporting protocols.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this role, candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in a social service-related field or equivalent experience as mandated by HUD. A solid understanding of elderly and disability services, along with experience in social service delivery, is essential. Direct experience working with elderly populations or individuals with disabilities is highly preferred. Bilingual skills and training in cultural competency are advantageous.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to apply common sense and critical thinking to problem-solving.
  • Physical capability to perform essential job functions, including lifting up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

The role requires the ability to interpret various documents, write routine reports, and effectively communicate with diverse groups. Candidates should be prepared to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
