**Job Summary**

Messer Construction is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to manage the Rental Division. As the Rental Division General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the division.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Drive a Zero Injury safety culture and ensure all employees adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Develop and execute the rental division business and marketing plan.
  • Motivate and lead a high-performing team of Department Managers to achieve division goals.
  • Lead the division's operations and support services, including the identification, development, and implementation of best-in-class business practices and processes.
  • Provide proactive and effective communication with the leadership of each Messer region.
  • Oversee the evaluation, allocation, and management of the asset lifecycle for all physical assets, employment decisions, and financial resources to meet Return on Equity (ROE) targets.
  • Set the financial direction of the division, utilizing annual budgets, and ensure financial stability and accurate reporting and forecasting through audits and internal controls.
  • Lead and manage ongoing relationships with key suppliers and develop strategic partnerships as necessary to foster expanding needs.
  • Attract, recruit, and retain a highly motivated team, providing mentorship and personal investment into their career development to support the company's growth-from-within model.
  • Set clear target metrics with time-bound expectations to drive an environment of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Identify potential new streams of revenue for the rental division that were once subcontracted by projects but could be owned, managed, and delivered internally as a source of growth.
  • Be a continual student of the industry to advance and keep the Messer Rental Division at the forefront.

**Requirements**

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or other related field with at least 5 years of rental industry experience or 7-10+ years managing a rental business or dealership with multiple facilities.
  • Courageous leader not afraid to challenge the status quo and possessing the ability to garner support from stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, including team building, goal setting, motivating, training, mentorship, and communication skills.
  • Command of Profit and Loss (P&L), asset utilization, and other key financial controls.
  • Strong experience in asset lifecycle management from specification to retirement.
  • Experience in outside sales or other experience in negotiation and influencing.
  • High level of accountability, time management, and willingness to learn all aspects of the business.
  • Keen strategic thinking and planning ability.
  • Experience leading a sales/operations team to identify and track opportunities and execute strategies to procure sales.
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Asset and service logistics experience is preferred.
  • Experience with parts and resale inventory management preferred.
