Ozarka College is in search of a qualified candidate for the position of Recruitment Specialist. This role serves as an entry-level position within the admissions department, operating under the supervision of the Director of Admissions & Student Engagement. The Recruitment Specialist will primarily be based at the main campus and will play a vital role in supporting various recruitment, admissions, and student engagement initiatives across all college locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a representative of Ozarka College, effectively communicating available higher education opportunities at community events, workshops, high schools, and other relevant venues;
  • Assist prospective students through the admissions process, including registration and testing;
  • Respond to inquiries from potential students and coordinate campus tours;
  • Monitor and communicate the status of applicants throughout the admissions process;
  • Support college events such as New Student Orientation, Scholarship Reception, and Financial Aid Nights;
  • Collaborate with the Director on Student Engagement initiatives, including the Ozarka Ambassador program and Student Government Association;
  • Promote scholarship opportunities to enhance student access;
  • Maintain current knowledge of admissions and program requirements, registration processes, financial aid, and college policies;
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills;
  • Participate in assigned committees and task forces;
  • Travel throughout the college service area as required;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred, particularly in fields such as Education, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Human Relations, or Business;
  • Preferred experience of at least one year in communications, public relations, or a related field;
  • Experience in higher education, particularly in admissions, recruiting, financial aid, or marketing strategies is desirable;
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, along with proficiency in relevant computer applications;
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed;
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, organization, and teamwork;
  • Understanding and commitment to the philosophy of two-year colleges;
  • Ability to effectively engage with students, faculty, staff, high school counselors, and the broader community;
  • Must be self-motivated, energetic, and capable of working independently;
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the service area, including some weekend and evening commitments.
