We are currently looking for talented individuals for our Logistics Operations Supervisor position.Position Summary:
The Logistics Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the timely, efficient, and profitable transportation and delivery of all rental equipment, collaborating with Drivers, Rental Coordinators, Rental Managers, and other departments as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Accountable for the Central Dispatch Profit and Loss Statement.
Tasked with maintaining the use and cost of external vendors below company standards by maximizing the utilization of company-owned assets and personnel.
Responsible for any disciplinary actions and documentation for direct reports.
Negotiates transportation rates with vendors.
Coordinates routing of shipments and allocation of company assets to meet customer requirements.
Manages and monitors drivers' hours of service.
Determines the order of priority for deliveries.
Implements best practices, including cost-effective shipping methods, to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups are completed within company-specified timelines and standards.
Ensures compliance with all inspections and BITs for the delivery fleet.
Oversees all delivery and transportation-related billing.
Assists with deliveries when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
Must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in the equipment rental industry, ideally in roles such as foreman, mechanic, truck driver, or sales representative.
Some advanced education in technical school, specialized business school, military training, or equivalent practical and on-the-job training is preferred.
Exhibits high proficiency in computer applications.
Possesses excellent communication skills and a high level of customer relations abilities.
Physical Demands:
Walking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain.
Handling:
Works with hands.
Lifting:
Raises or lowers miscellaneous equipment parts, small tools, batteries, and tampers. May lift up to 60 lbs. with frequent exertion.
Reaching:
Extends hands and arms in any direction.
Stooping:
Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
Standing:
Remains in a standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
Climbing:
In and out of equipment.
Vision:
Reads rental documents, invoices, and bills.
Talking:
Communicates via telecommunications and in person.
Sitting:
Sits in equipment and in vehicles.
Environmental:
Noise:
Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
Temp/Weather:
Works in an office environment outside with variations of temperature and weather.
Exposure:
Foul odors, fumes, and harsh substances.
