Family Support Specialist

MECA Therapies, LLC is seeking a dedicated Home Visiting Service Provider to foster positive and secure connections between young children and their caregivers. This role is essential in implementing methods that avert negative childhood experiences while enhancing overall wellbeing.
QualificationsTo excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in essential responsibilities. The qualifications outlined below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for success. Education and Licensure: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and Infant Mental Health Certification within two years of employment.

The Home Visiting Service Provider will operate in compliance with Local, State, and Federal Regulations, adhering to all MECA policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Identifying families and expectant mothers who may benefit from home visiting services
- Assessing eligibility of children and families using standardized criteria
- Creating transition plans in collaboration with families
- Setting positive outcomes and goals based on assessments and selected curricula aimed at strengthening caregiver-child relationships
- Conducting scheduled visits based on family needs
- Encouraging safe and nurturing relationships between young children and their caregivers
- Implementing strategies to prevent adverse childhood experiences and promote overall wellbeing
- Providing services that enhance parental competence and support early childhood development
- Building relationships and supporting wellness across various domains for infants, young children, and their families
- Conducting prenatal, post-partum, and ongoing home visits
- Establishing measurable outcomes for infants and toddlers
- Delivering parenting education that includes developmental guidance
- Conducting health, safety, and developmental screenings
- Identifying community resources and providing referral support
- Engaging in reflective supervision and consultation to ensure cultural sensitivity
- Documenting and managing required data in the management system
- Maintaining family files in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Conducting annual family satisfaction surveys
- Involving families in setting treatment goals and training them on specific strategies
- Promoting the Home Visiting program within the community
- Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings for children receiving early intervention services
- Attending meetings related to early intervention services
The Home Visiting Service Provider will be assigned a caseload by the regional director, providing services to 15 to 28 families based on their needs.
Productivity ExpectationsThe Home Visiting Service Provider is expected to meet a productivity goal of 100% as established by MECA Management, ensuring each family is seen at least once a month for a minimum of 90 minutes.
Documentation StandardsAccurate data collection on individuals served is essential. Documentation must be timely and adhere to the following:
- Documenting sessions and progress
- Entering data into the database within 24 hours of each visit
- Filing all assessment notes promptly
The Home Visiting Service Provider will support and guide families while complying with mandatory training requirements set by the Early Childhood Education and Care Department. Responsibilities include:
- Providing in-house training to staff
- Obtaining Infant Mental Health Certification within two years
- Attending required staff meetings and training sessions
- Completing a professional development self-assessment
- Creating a Professional Development Plan within two weeks of hire
All Home Visiting Service Providers must receive reflective supervision at least twice a month.
- Scheduling supervision sessions with the Clinical Reflective Supervisor
- Participating in monthly case consultations
The Home Visiting Service Provider will ensure high-quality services by:
- Ensuring families understand their rights
- Respecting the rights of families at all times
- Maintaining ethical practices in compliance with MECA policies
- Conducting monthly file audits
MECA staff must adhere to all applicable State and Federal guidelines and MECA policies.
