In this role, you will play a vital part in enhancing our Paint and Finishing manufacturing operations. Your responsibilities will be varied, encompassing the design, upkeep, and improvement of these essential processes.

You will confront challenges directly, identifying and removing obstacles to optimize our operations. Furthermore, you will spearhead innovation, aiding in the creation of new processes and refining existing ones. Your contributions will have a direct effect on our ability to introduce exciting new product variations and updates, ensuring we consistently meet and surpass customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process calculations, equipment specifications, and procurement.
  • Provide engineering insights during root cause analysis for process and quality issues.
  • Lead the development and enhancement of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for manufacturing processes.
  • Design, modify, and repair intricate automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, robots, and vision systems.
  • Evaluate machine logic and controls to troubleshoot equipment and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Support manufacturing operations, troubleshooting, and reporting protocols for plant utilities/services as needed.
  • Promote safety among employees through design, process controls, and enhancements.
  • Assist in launching new product development, including Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) opportunities.
  • Implement Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) for product variants within existing production cells.
  • Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives to support operational goals.
  • Develop justifications, source, and implement new technologies or capital equipment upgrades to enhance operations.
Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of experience in electromechanical assembly or manufacturing with extensive PLC experience and a strong controls background.
  • Experience with powder coating, e-coating, and industrial painting is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of OT/IT networking and machine-to-machine communication protocols.
  • Proficient in using PLCs (Allen Bradley) for process control related to level, flow, pressure, and pH.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SolidWorks or similar modeling software.
  • Strong skills in data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation to support informed manufacturing decisions.
  • Experience in directly supporting production environments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related technical engineering discipline; or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with LEAN Manufacturing Principles (DFM, DFA, DFSS, 6S, Kaizen, Kanban).
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Proficient in Office 365 and relevant software applications.
  • Exceptional presentation and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, high-energy, and a strong drive for achievement.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to group objectives.
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift 40 pounds when assembling or modifying equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud, with occasional work in areas with limited accessibility.
