Position Overview:

The Engineering Supervisor role within Modine's Air Cooled Applications Vertical is essential for driving innovation and leading a dynamic team. This position involves managing all engineering activities for the Virtual Tech team, which includes researching, conceptualizing, modeling, prototyping, and validating innovative product designs for future customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Direct a team of engineers and CAD designers, allocate projects, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results. Employ an agile methodology for effective project management.
  • Employee Development: Prioritize training, mentorship, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement among team members.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with various departments to ensure project success and foster teamwork across business units and external partners.
  • Innovation & Product Development: Spearhead the creation of new concepts, refine design alternatives, and guarantee product performance and longevity.
  • Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Communication Skills: Clearly convey technical concepts and strategic initiatives to stakeholders.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the organization’s business strategy informed by market insights and industry trends.

Required Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing product development teams.
  • Strong grasp of cost factors, system architecture, and engineering principles.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, and navigate ambiguity effectively.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to thermal management.
  • Enthusiasm for innovation, continuous learning, and global networking.
  • Experience with thermal management systems and CAD software is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel for customer engagements and project implementations.
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in an agile work setting.
  • Strong leadership qualities, assertiveness, and a focus on the 80/20 principle.
