About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the implementation of SolidWorks Electrical Schematic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Create and implement standard libraries, templates, and macros in SolidWorks to optimize efficiency in the design of motor control and test systems.
  • Process Improvement: Develop processes and tools to improve design efficiency and quality.
  • Expertise and Mentorship: Serve as the company expert and mentor in SolidWorks Electrical, providing guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Training and Development: Train the department on established protocols for use in product design.
  • Review and Approval: Review and approve work as it relates to symbols, libraries, and templates.
  • Design Solutions: Design motor control and test system solutions, including creation of Power Distribution Diagrams, Network Distribution Diagrams, and Electrical schematics.
  • Continuous Improvement: Offer improvements to existing tools and processes.
  • Standardization: Drive consistent use of libraries, templates, and macros across the department.
  • Performance Metrics: Utilize KPIs to show demonstrated improvement in quality and cycle time resulting from work with processes, tools, and libraries.
  • Communication: Foster open communication internally on the use of SolidWorks tools to promote continuous improvement.
  • Industry Trends: Monitor advances in design tools globally.
  • Collaboration: Work with the production area to ensure process and tools support high-quality, efficient assembly.
  • Customer Feedback: Incorporate customer and end-user feedback to further improve our products.
  • Project Leadership: Serve as technical lead on assigned projects, working with other functional groups and customers to meet deliverables and address technology or product issues.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Demonstrate an intense focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations, and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: Strong experience in SolidWorks Electrical tools and its application to system design.
  • Design Experience: Experience with design of motor control and test systems.
  • Years of Experience: 5+ years of related experience.
  • Process Development: Demonstrated track record of creating/applying standard processes.
