Position Summary:

The Equity Fund Policy Program Officer will be instrumental in driving policy initiatives that align with the objectives of the PVD Equity Fund and the Live United 2025 strategic framework. This role emphasizes the development and advocacy of policies aimed at rectifying systemic inequities, promoting racial equity, and enhancing economic empowerment and educational opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy Formulation and Advocacy:
    1. Design and advocate for policies that align with the PVD Equity Fund's goals.
    2. Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on issues related to racial equity, economic empowerment, and education.
    3. Collaborate with community stakeholders and policymakers to build coalitions for policy advancement.
    4. Monitor and evaluate policy developments at various governmental levels and their implications for strategic objectives.
  • Program Oversight:
    1. Assist in the execution and assessment of policy-related programs.
    2. Engage with grantees and community partners to ensure alignment with policy goals.
    3. Support the preparation of grant proposals and reports pertaining to policy initiatives.
    4. Provide capacity-building assistance to community organizations.
  • Community Involvement:
    1. Engage with community leaders and residents to gather insights and foster support for policy initiatives.
    2. Organize community forums and discussions to solicit feedback on policy matters.
    3. Represent the organization in policy discussions and conferences.
  • Communication and Outreach:
    1. Create and distribute policy briefs and reports to inform stakeholders.
    2. Maintain ongoing communication with policymakers and community partners.
    3. Collaborate with the communications team to promote policy achievements.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    1. Bachelor's degree in public policy, social work, sociology, political science, or a related field.
    2. At least 3 years of experience in policy analysis, advocacy, or community organizing.
    3. Experience in racial equity, economic empowerment, or education is preferred.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    1. Strong grasp of policy development and advocacy processes.
    2. Exceptional research, analytical, and writing capabilities.
    3. Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
    4. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
    5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data analysis tools.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: Competitive based on experience within the range of $65,000 - $70,000.
