Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Service Representative to join our team at Access Dubuque. As a key member of our call center, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, answering incoming calls, and scheduling appointments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls from patients, pharmacies, care facilities, and other providers or clinics.
  • Assist or direct incoming calls appropriately.
  • Provide clear and accurate communication to clinical staff about patient needs, concerns, or requests.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, cancellations, check-ups, and physician referrals.
  • Review, update, or obtain patient information, making necessary changes to ensure correct billing and enter demographics into the system.
  • Verify insurance information/status.
  • Schedule/cancel appointments for patients; ensure that all procedures are properly scheduled in the computer system and protocols are followed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Three months to one year similar or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to provide a high-quality customer experience with each interaction.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Friendly, empathetic, and accountable.
  • Ability to use office equipment, such as computers, telephones, fax, copier, calculator.
  • Knowledge of patient scheduling program and electronic medical record.
