Position Overview

Primary Objective:

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will apply their expertise in evidence-based medical practices and International SOS protocols to effectively manage urgent and unexpected medical situations, providing treatment for a range of injuries and illnesses in a timely and professional manner. The EMT will play a vital role in delivering both direct and indirect medical care to patients in emergency scenarios, working collaboratively as part of a team to ensure patient-centered care in pre-hospital environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver pre-hospital emergency medical assistance for various trauma cases.
  • Support the Paramedic in assessing the nature and severity of injuries or illnesses and prioritizing necessary emergency interventions.
  • Assist the Paramedic in providing emergency medical treatment to all patients.
  • Serve as the primary driver of emergency vehicles, ensuring the safety of all individuals.
  • Restock EMS units upon receipt of supplies and assist other clinic personnel with inventory management.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and protective gear in a ready-to-use condition.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
  • Capability to assess adult and pediatric patients in pre-hospital settings.
  • Proficiency in executing Basic Life Support (BLS) interventions per established protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competence in IT, including the use of electronic medical records systems.

  • Cultural sensitivity and readiness to engage with a diverse patient population.

Experience Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of experience as an EMT in a high-demand 911 system.
  • Experience in remote settings is advantageous.
  • Prior military or firefighting experience is preferred.
Certifications:
  • EMT Level Certification from the National Registry (NREMT) - Required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Required.
  • A valid US Passport is necessary and must be maintained throughout employment.
Language Proficiency:
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
Travel Requirements:
  • Some travel may be necessary.

Compensation ranges from $59,000 to $75,000, based on various factors including experience and qualifications.
