About the Role

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to fill the position of 21st Century Community Engagement Specialist. This role will play a critical part in supporting the success of our 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) program by providing exceptional service to our families and community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit and engage parents and guardians in the CCLC program through regular meetings, workshops, and events.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and organizations to provide support services to families.
  • Assist with the collection and submission of required information and data to ensure program compliance.
  • Provide administrative support to the Afterschool Director and Academic Team as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including incident/accident paperwork.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • Paraprofessional certificate or 2-year associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in Title 1 schools or as a parent liaison.
  • Required certifications: Paraprofessional certificate, 2-year associate teaching certificate; ability to obtain other required certifications.
  • Ability to obtain working knowledge of 21st CCLC requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and database management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and problem-solve.
  • Strong customer service skills and commitment to service and hospitality.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Pass a criminal background and drug screening check.
  • Pass a motor vehicle record check and have own transportation.
