Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and automate our innovative cells architecture, a horizontally scalable platform designed to accommodate our expanding global customer base.
- Automate the redistribution of our customers across cells to balance the load seamlessly, ensuring no downtime.
- Design and implement a new Kubernetes staging environment that allows engineers to deploy in under a minute.
- Create tools to enhance developer workflows for a large engineering team, such as an online MySQL migration automation tool for extensive production database shards.
- Diagnose and resolve low-level technical issues, including memcached throughput limitations and network partitions within our AWS VPC.
- Design, deploy, and manage asynchronous work queues, high-capacity storage systems, and high-throughput solutions, including writing code that can efficiently manage thousands of servers.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Passionate about cloud infrastructure.
- Possess a product-oriented mindset, as we are a product-focused organization dedicated to enhancing workplace efficiency.
- Experience with highly available, large-scale distributed systems in a significant internet service environment.
- Proficient in developing software systems utilizing Amazon Web Services.
- Fluent in a dynamic programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or similar.
- Demonstrated success in launching and delivering complex projects amidst high levels of ambiguity.
- Ability to assess the trade-offs of various technical solutions, prioritizing practicality over idealism.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative, and rapidly evolving environment.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading an infrastructure team.
- Background in scaling data storage solutions like MySQL and Elasticsearch.
- Advanced skills in Linux systems engineering.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
