Role Overview

As part of our infrastructure team, you will play a pivotal role in developing tools and products that enhance the capabilities of fellow engineers. Your focus will be on building our next-generation cells architecture, which is designed to accommodate significantly larger scales than our current capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and automate our innovative cells architecture, a horizontal scaling platform that supports our expanding global customer base.
  • Implement automation for customer load balancing across our cells to ensure seamless operations without downtime.
  • Create and deploy a new Kubernetes staging environment that enables engineers to initiate setups in under a minute.
  • Design tools to enhance developer workflows for a large engineering team, such as a schema migration automation tool for online MySQL migrations across multiple production database shards.
  • Diagnose and resolve low-level technical issues, including memcached throughput limitations and network partitions within our AWS VPC.
  • Architect, deploy, and manage asynchronous work queues, high-volume storage systems, and high-throughput systems, demonstrating proficiency in writing code that can manage thousands of servers.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Passion for cloud infrastructure.
  • A product-oriented mindset, as we are a company dedicated to enhancing workplace efficiency.
  • Experience with highly available, large-scale distributed systems in a significant internet service environment.
  • Proficiency in software systems built on Amazon Web Services.
  • Expertise in a dynamic programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Ruby, or similar.
  • Proven history of successfully launching and delivering complex projects amidst ambiguity.
  • Ability to evaluate the trade-offs of various technical solutions, prioritizing practicality over idealism.
  • Capacity to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative, and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Full professional proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading an infrastructure team.
  • Familiarity with scaling data storage solutions like MySQL and Elasticsearch.
  • Advanced skills in Linux systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
