Job Summary

The Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Youth Program Director to lead our Youth Program operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the program's staff and participants, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and regulations, and developing and implementing strategies to promote participant holistic well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall management of the Youth Program, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and regulations, AmeriCorps regulations, and outcome measures.
  • Develop and implement participant recruitment, orientation, assessment, and selection process that meets program guidelines.
  • Develop training activities that help participants develop marketable job skills to enhance job readiness, marketability, and placement.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with program partners, including Life Learning Center, Gateway CTC, local school districts, local courts, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide program staff training, supervision, direction, performance management, and work assignments.
  • Oversee the maintenance of participant files and records in accordance with program and employment documentation compliance requirements.
  • Ensure timely enrollment, exit, and outcome documentation is entered into the funder-required databases as required.
  • Oversee the AmeriCorps program to ensure that Youth Program members are engaged in meaningful public service work to help others and meet critical needs in the community.
  • Ensure participant time logs meet program requirements, with time and attendance documented according to program guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with NKWIB, AmeriCorps, and Kentucky Commission of Volunteer and Community Service (KCVCS), and other funders as developed.
  • Prepare and submit all required internal and external reports timely and efficiently.
  • Prepare and manage budgets as assigned, ensuring that the budget and spending comply with contractual requirements. Secure and document match funds, including in-kind match, as required.
  • Ensure participants are evaluated semi-annually and at completion.
  • Proactively market the program, services, and outcomes in the community to secure additional service opportunities for AmeriCorps hours, volunteers, donations, partners, and participants.
  • Maintain program certifications as required.
  • Develop and maintain professional connectivity with state and local government staffing and employment development programs, including the region's One-Stop Centers.
  • Support pre- and post-placement participants in job search, interviewing, and retention activities.
  • Create, implement, and maintain a system to document records of contacts, relationships, and outcomes with employers and placed graduates.
  • Actively participate in professional development, program collaboration, strategic planning, and other organizational development activities, as assigned.
  • Promote the Agency's mission, vision, values, and standards.
  • Ensure initial and ongoing compliance with all program and grant requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in organizational management, Social Work, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in social services organization.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Knowledge of Federal rules and regulations governing grants and contracts.
  • Understanding of basic principles of public and community relations, methods of report preparation and presentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and on-line databases is required.
  • Strong commitment to helping young people succeed in an innovative training program, to reorient their lives, nurture their leadership skills, and enable them to make a difference in their community.
  • Prior experience working with disadvantaged and at-risk youth and the ability to establish rapport and relate sensitively to a low income, multiracial and multicultural group of young people preferred.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Must have ability to work as part of a team.
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work with a diverse workforce.
