Brighton Center, Inc. is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on empowering individuals and families to achieve self-sufficiency through comprehensive support services, educational programs, job training, and leadership development.
Objective:
The primary role of the Residential Assistant is to provide direct oversight and support to the residents of Brighton Center's Homeward Bound Shelter. This facility operates around the clock, catering to youth aged 11-17 who have experienced abuse, neglect, or homelessness. The Residential Assistants engage actively with the youth, facilitating their journey towards personal goals and fostering essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily activities of shelter residents and implement behavior management strategies as required.
- Ensure timely preparation and serving of meals.
- Assist in the continuous operation of the shelter's programming.
- Respond to hotline inquiries and provide crisis intervention when necessary.
- Collaborate with the Treatment Team to develop and implement individualized service plans for youth.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings and required training sessions.
- Support youth in both emergency shelter and residential treatment settings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Preferred two years of experience working with at-risk youth.
- High School diploma required; some college education is preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past five years.
- Experience in residential settings is advantageous.
