Job Summary

Brighton Center Inc is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Assistant to join our team. As a Residential Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to youth ages 11-17 in our 24/7 Emergency Shelter and residential treatment program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Daily Activities: Oversee the daily routines and schedules of residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Behavior Management: Provide guidance and support to residents as needed, promoting positive behavior and conflict resolution skills.
  • Meal Preparation: Assist with meal planning and preparation, ensuring healthy and nutritious food is available for residents.
  • Shelter Programming: Participate in 24/7 hour shelter programming, including activities and events designed to promote resident engagement and well-being.
  • Crisis Counseling: Answer hotline calls and provide crisis counseling as necessary, offering support and guidance to residents in need.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Treatment Team to develop and implement youth service plans, ensuring residents receive comprehensive support and care.
  • Professional Development: Attend monthly employee meetings and training sessions as required, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Age: Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Experience: Two years of experience working with at-risk adolescents is preferred.
  • Education: High School diploma required; some college education preferred.
  • Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record for at least the past 5 years.
  • Residential Experience: Prior experience in a residential setting is a plus.
