Key Responsibilities:

  • Working under the guidance of the Collections Supervisor, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is tasked with managing all facets of collections for designated accounts.
  • Conduct research and reconciliation of outstanding accounts receivable to pinpoint and resolve overdue invoices.
  • Initiate collection efforts for overdue accounts through phone and email communications to minimize outstanding balances.
  • Manage both incoming and outgoing calls effectively.
  • Diligently document all collection activities and follow up on items until resolution is achieved.
  • Negotiate payment plans with clients.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and suggest opportunities for enhancing processes.
  • Engage in special projects and undertake additional related responsibilities as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1+ years of recent experience in a customer service role with a proven track record of effectively managing overdue accounts using a soft collection approach.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • A strong, positive work ethic is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work autonomously in a dynamic environment with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external clients.

Supervisory Responsibility:

Not applicable.

Education, Certification, and Experience:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • 1 – 3 years of customer service experience is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience in soft collections is necessary.
  • Familiarity with SAP, High Radius, AS400, JD Edwards, and Sales Force is advantageous.
  • This position allows for remote (hybrid) work from home.
