HR Coordinator

At Center of Creative Arts, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department, assisting with recruitment, maintaining employee records, and providing excellent customer service to all employees.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform customer service functions and assist with internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests.
- Complete Forms I-9, verify I-9 documentation, and maintain I-9 files.
- Assist with new-employee, re-hired employee, and independent contractor background checks.
- Conduct audits of payroll, employee files, or other HR programs and recommend corrective action.
- Assist with the administrative processing of terminations.
- Assist with the preparation of the 90-Day Review, Compensation Review & Performance Review process.
- Manage COCA Career Center and other recruitment tactics, research, and post to new job boards.
- Assist with recruitment and interview process, including tracking candidate status in HRIS, performing reference checks, issuing offer letters, and responding to follow-up emails.
- Schedule meetings, interviews, and HR events as requested by the Director of HR.
- Assist with new hire orientations and faculty orientations.
- Help coordinate training sessions.
- Assist with payroll and ad-hoc HR projects.
- Perform other clerical functions, such as making photocopies, mailing, scanning, and emailing documents.
- File documents into appropriate employee files.
- Assist or prepare correspondence as requested.
- Prepare new-employee or re-hired employee files and communications.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
- Assist with the documentation of internal HR processes and maintain existing HR process documents.
- Be an active member of the Festivus (employee engagement) committee and HR Committee.
- Bachelor's Degree or significant professional experience required.
- One (1) plus year of Human Resources experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite or related software.
- A commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to carry up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to walk, stand, and sit for periods of time.
