Brulin is looking for a Technical Support Chemist to provide specialized technical assistance and support for our esteemed clientele and production operations. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in chemistry along with experience in technical support, emphasizing the importance of product quality and enhancing production efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with customers, the quality assurance team, and production personnel to uphold the highest standards of product performance and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee quality management systems to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related challenges and promote continuous improvement.
  • Examine quality data to detect trends and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Manage evaluations and recertifications of expired raw materials.
  • Maintain technical documentation, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and support resources.
  • Address escalated technical issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Engage with clients to comprehend their product requirements, collect feedback, and offer solutions.
  • Formulate and validate alternative raw materials for current products.
  • Assist development chemists with technical insights and customer information for innovation and method development.
  • Exhibit knowledge and competency related to both the Environmental Management System (EMS) and the Quality Management System (QMS), including but not limited to policies, objectives, and compliance obligations associated with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) system.

Essential Skills

Capability to conduct odor and visual color assessments.

Able to operate cleaning machinery for product testing (e.g., floor stripper, automatic scrubber, etc.).

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Willingness to travel 10-25% for customer support.
  • A Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a closely related discipline is required. Additional certifications in industry-specific courses are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in chemistry, formulation, and technical support, with experience in quality and production processes.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of software tools and applications pertinent to technical support and production.
  • Dedication to continuous improvement and client satisfaction.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience.
