Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory results that are crucial for patient care.

Job Location:
The position is based in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Work Schedule:
The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Please note that training hours may vary based on the trainer's availability.

Contract Duration:
This is a contract position with the potential for permanent placement based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate specimen acceptability for testing based on established guidelines.
- Execute both routine and advanced technical procedures in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to maintain optimal functionality.
- Make informed technical decisions regarding testing and resolve issues as they arise.
- Prepare and assess new reagents or controls for laboratory use.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results to support quality patient care.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
- Manage and replenish laboratory supplies as necessary.
- Assist in specimen processing when required.
- Uphold a safe working environment and adhere to personal protective equipment protocols.
- Collaborate effectively within a team and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
- Utilize computer systems proficiently; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work additional hours or shifts as needed.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent qualifications as per local regulations.
- A minimum of 0-2 years of experience in clinical laboratory testing is required.

Certification Requirements:
Candidates must meet the CLIA standards for testing personnel, which include:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science, or
- A Bachelor’s in a relevant science field with at least one year of specialized training or experience, or
- 90 semester hours from an accredited institution with specific coursework in biology, chemistry, and math, along with clinical laboratory training or experience, or
- An Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology.
