Role Overview: We are seeking a Lead Software Architect for our Safety Engineering team. This position is crucial in developing robust systems that prioritize user safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive safety measures to safeguard our users.
  • Oversee the architecture and operation of essential services within our user safety framework.
  • Collaborate across departments to analyze complex issues, assess trade-offs, and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Champion engineering best practices focusing on system availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost efficiency.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers through design processes and code evaluations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership in technical design and project execution.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and work autonomously to address organizational challenges.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in collaborating with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in navigating ambiguous problems from conception to implementation.
  • Demonstrated success in managing highly available systems at scale.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, caching solutions like Memcache/Redis, Kubernetes, or cloud services such as Google Cloud or AWS.
  • Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline, such as Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 14 years in software development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in trust and safety engineering.
  • Proficiency in Java, C++, and/or Python.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, caching technologies, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms.
