Position Overview:
We are in search of a Lead Software Solutions Architect to spearhead the engineering, design, and execution of advanced cryptographic product security, transport, and accountability mechanisms for both high and medium assurance applications.


Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will:

  • Lead and support the architectural design of diverse software solutions for an evolving line of business.
  • Define innovative architectures and refine existing products to align with emerging technology roadmaps.
  • Ensure adherence to well-defined software practices, employing SOLID principles and clean coding methodologies.
  • Incorporate coding standards for security and maintainability, referencing guidelines from the Software Engineering Institute's Carnegie Mellon Institute.
  • Guide a team of developers in crafting solutions utilizing agile methodologies.
  • Oversee the development of desktop applications, cloud solutions, client/server architectures, and web applications.
  • Utilize various programming languages, including Java and C/C++, to determine the best fit for different products and systems through alternative trade studies.
  • Make high-level decisions and manage the software development lifecycle within the agile framework.
  • Collaborate daily with program management, integration engineers, test engineers, cybersecurity experts, and other project stakeholders.
  • Serve as a technical authority, creating high-level architectural designs while evaluating requirements against budgetary, scheduling, and performance constraints.
  • Communicate design decisions to developers, including platform selection, software stack choices, and programming language strategies.
  • Develop comprehensive strategies for monitoring applications, infrastructure, interfaces, and critical business transactions.


Position Responsibilities:
The role will encompass:

  • Providing technical leadership to multiple Agile/SCRUM teams, delivering solutions that enhance capabilities, reduce maintenance costs, and allow for rapid adaptation to customer needs.
  • Formulating software designs that achieve desired outcomes while balancing various constraints, including customer environments and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Designing, developing, and executing software solutions efficiently.
  • Quickly troubleshooting code-level issues.
  • Managing changes to software architecture and controlling complexity.
  • Collaborating with team members to gather input for overall architecture and solutions.
  • Effectively communicating the software architecture framework to stakeholders with varying technical expertise.
  • Evaluating technologies and vendor solutions for integration into existing architectures to resolve technical challenges.
  • Clarifying software quality requirements and standards.
  • Coaching and training team members to ensure proficiency in software applications.
  • Preparing clear reports for supervisors outlining milestones and project goals.
  • Leading discussions in customer meetings and technical interchange sessions.


Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with 8+ years of experience.
- Extensive experience in designing and developing large integrated classified systems.
- Proven leadership experience in development teams.
- Strong understanding of secure systems architecture and development practices.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure development and configuration.
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and UI/UX design.


Desired:
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Relevant programming or cloud-based certifications.
- Familiarity with networking protocols and Agile methodologies.
