Position Overview

Your Role

Utilize your backend Java cloud engineering expertise to contribute to cutting-edge cloud software and web applications. Join us in designing, building, deploying, and scaling the next generation of our cloud security platform. We are in search of a Senior Principal Engineer who is passionate about coding and driven to create global products that address real-world security challenges.

We seek leaders who take ownership of their responsibilities and are motivated to tackle challenges at every level. Collaboration is central to our culture, and we require engineers who can communicate effectively and work seamlessly with cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.

Your Contributions

  • Engage in all stages of the product development lifecycle, from definition and design to implementation and testing—steering features from conception to delivery.
  • Work closely with product management, architects, and DevOps to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Collaborate with customer support, documentation, and downstream teams to facilitate customer success.
  • Make informed trade-offs to optimize time-to-release while upholding performance and scalability standards.
  • Clearly articulate goals and desired outcomes to internal project teams.
  • Conduct interviews, mentor, and coach junior team members.
Qualifications

Your Background

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering with over 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent military experience.
  • Advanced hands-on experience as a Core Java Software Engineer in a distributed/cloud-based environment.
  • Proficient in the Spring framework, REST APIs, ElasticSearch, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Strong knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, and performance optimization.
  • Solid experience in database architecture design, focusing on scalability, performance, and resilience.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills with the ability to swiftly resolve complex production issues.
  • Good understanding of data processing pipeline designs, including ingestion, ETL, queries, and large-scale storage.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and a commitment to automation testing for higher code coverage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
  • A proactive problem-solver with a focus on quality and execution in a dynamic environment.
  • A self-starter, capable of independent learning and quick adaptation.

The compensation for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary is expected to be between $170,000 and $275,000 per year, with additional compensation including restricted stock units and bonuses.
