Position Overview: Prevention Specialist - Elementary

This role is focused on delivering Primary Prevention initiatives and services tailored for elementary school students, emphasizing anti-bullying and anti-violence educational programs.

The responsibilities of this position are substantial and include the preparation, development, and facilitation of primary prevention strategies within Tarrant County Independent School Districts. The specialist will engage with a diverse array of students, families, and community stakeholders to present contemporary, age-appropriate, evidence-based curricula on topics related to violence. Additionally, this role acts as a bridge for communities and organizations to advocate for domestic violence prevention initiatives and participates in community events to foster strong relationships. The specialist will also be responsible for scheduling and conducting evidence-based multi-session programming, supporting data collection efforts, and completing necessary reports for agencies and funders.

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in social work or a related discipline is mandatory.
  • Experience in public speaking is essential.
  • Background in education or community outreach is preferred.
  • Familiarity with family violence theory is advantageous.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with insurance are necessary.
  • Ability to pass multiple school district background checks annually is required.
  • Flexibility in work hours is essential, with some evening and weekend commitments expected.
