Position Title: Communication Strategist (Military Activities)

This role is essential for supporting U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) at MacDill AFB, focusing on the integration and synchronization of Department of Defense (DoD) military operations with United States Government (USG) strategies. Responsibilities include the development of strategic inputs, campaign plans, and operational concepts that align with broader objectives across various agencies and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expertise in the formulation and synchronization of communication strategies and plans.
  • Contribute subject matter expertise during the creation of Key Leader Engagement (KLE) policies.
  • Recommend designs for KLE management tools and oversee data management, including KLE data and strategic messaging content.
  • Provide senior-level support in developing communication initiatives, including themes, narratives, and audience identification.
  • Monitor key messages from USG leaders to ensure alignment with communication efforts in Concept Plans and OPLANs.
  • Advise on methodologies for unifying communication efforts among USCENTCOM, subordinate commands, and the Interagency.
  • Integrate communication plans and operations across Public Affairs, Information Operations, and Key Leader Engagement disciplines.
  • Coordinate with relevant USCENTCOM directorates to align communication strategies with designated plans.
  • Prepare and deliver effective presentations, including briefs for senior leadership on relevant topics.
  • Develop and maintain Annex Y: Commander's Communication Strategy for CONPLANs, OPLANs, and OPORDs.
  • Manage FOIA requests and Mandatory Declassification Reviews (MDRs) in accordance with legal standards.
  • Advise on the FOIA and MDR Program to ensure compliance with USCENTCOM directives.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in planning within information-related fields such as Public Affairs, Information Operations, Key Leader Engagements, or Civil Affairs.
  • Completion of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) I is preferred.
  • Experience in Corporate Marketing is advantageous.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Prior experience with USCENTCOM is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
