We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Senior Planner (Military Activities).

Position Summary: The U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) has a critical requirement for joint staff planning that focuses on the integration and synchronization of Department of Defense (DoD) military operations with U.S. Government (USG) strategies. This role involves developing strategic inputs, campaign plans, and operational concepts that align with overarching strategic and operational goals, ensuring collaboration with various DoD components, USG agencies, allies, coalition partners, and regional stakeholders.

The Senior Planner will deliver expert strategy, planning, exercises, and policy support to the unique Joint Planning Team (JPT) and Operational Planning Team (OPT).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate all phases of the Joint Operational Planning Process, including Mission Analysis, Course of Action (COA) Development, COA Analysis (Wargaming), COA Comparison, and Decision-making.
  • Ensure a seamless transition of plans to execution teams, providing situational awareness and rationale for critical decisions.
  • Support planning initiatives across USCENTCOM Component Commands, key Combatant Commands, the Joint Staff, and other federal entities, as well as international allies and partners.
  • Offer technical guidance to joint planning teams regarding the Joint Planning Process, Execution Systems, and Exercise/Training Planning.
  • Prepare and present briefings to senior leadership on relevant topics within the scope of the role.
  • Conduct analyses and provide recommendations for USCENTCOM's joint, interagency, and multinational planning efforts.
  • Assist in coordinating operations within the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR) with coalition and regional partners.
  • Advise the USCENTCOM Commander's staff on strategic and regional matters.
  • Draft analyses, recommendations, and products for joint planning teams and working groups to support the development of orders and briefings for USCENTCOM leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in joint strategic planning.
  • Graduate of a recognized military advanced education program such as Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS) or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant planning experience.
  • At least 3 years of planning experience at a Geographic or Functional Combatant Command Headquarters.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Prior experience with USCENTCOM is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.
