ROLE SUMMARY
The Inclusion Aide plays a crucial role in supporting students requiring additional assistance within our afterschool programs. Reporting to the site leadership, this position is essential in maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere for both students and their families.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Duties:
    • Collaborate with site leadership to develop resources for students needing behavioral and emotional support.
    • Work with inclusion consultants to create individualized plans for students, including daily goals and reward systems in partnership with families.
  • Student Support:
    • Assist in managing the emotions and behaviors of students on the Autism Spectrum and those requiring additional support.
    • Facilitate emotional regulation for students experiencing heightened feelings.
    • Support teachers in conflict resolution among students.
    • Help develop behavior agreements between the afterschool program and families as necessary.
    • Model inclusive strategies for educators to engage all students effectively.
    • Provide support in sensory environments to aid students in managing dysregulation.
  • General Responsibilities:
    • Serve as a positive role model for children and colleagues.
    • Promote an inclusive environment for all participants.
    • Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic team setting.
    • Manage multiple tasks efficiently to meet organizational objectives.
    • Exhibit proactive behavior and strong leadership skills.
    • Maintain a goal-oriented approach with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Engage in regular staff meetings to foster collaboration.
    • Commit to the mission of ElevatEd and actively learn about community values and traditions.
    • Ensure consistent attendance, as this role is vital to the success of the afterschool program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years of experience working with children, particularly those on the spectrum, is preferred.
  • Experience with students in grades K-5 is desirable.
  • Training in ABA or other special education methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to plan and implement strategies to achieve organizational goals effectively.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills are necessary.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to remain active and engaged throughout the work shift.
  • Flexibility to assist children in various physical environments.
  • Quick responsiveness to the needs of young learners is crucial.
  • Regular attendance and availability during operational hours are required.
