Job Summary

The Afterschool Lead Teacher will play a pivotal role in the success of the Elevated Afterschool Program. This individual will be responsible for creating a positive educational climate where students can learn and grow. They will develop and implement weekly classes based on their personal passions and skills, working closely with the Afterschool Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Classroom Planning: Develop lesson plans and activities that align with the program's vision and philosophy, extending learning from the students' school days.
  • Student Support: Provide individualized tutoring and support for students in specific subjects and general schoolwork.
  • Behavior Management: Manage student behavior in the classroom, invoking approved disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Program Development: Contribute to the overall development of the afterschool program, supporting the goals of Elevated.
  • Organization and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, assisting in keeping all afterschool spaces operational.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of childcare or equivalent experience.
  • BA in Education or a related field (psychology, sociology, recreation).
  • Experience working with children in grades K-5 and ability to plan activities for different age groups.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong classroom management and behavior management skills.
Benefits

Elevated offers a competitive salary range of $23.06 to $24.10/hour, excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, vacation, sick pay, and holidays. This position is represented by the Union.
