Job Summary

The JCC East Bay is seeking a dedicated and passionate Afterschool Jewish Educator to join our team. As a key member of our Edah program, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment for children in grades K-5, promoting their learning, culture, and growth.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and care for children, planning and implementing developmental programming for TK/Kindergarten students.
  • Contribute to the development of the Edah program and curriculum, working closely with the Senior Director of Jewish Learning.
  • Lead and supervise children in various activities, both structured and unstructured.
  • Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and organized environment for children.
  • Manage student behavior and provide support to students in all aspects of the Edah afterschool program.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, staff meetings, and Jewish holiday training sessions.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of childcare or equivalent experience, with a preference for preschool or TK experience.
  • 48+ college credits, with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field preferred.
  • Background and experience in Jewish education and arts education.
  • Hebrew language fluency (native or very strong).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead a classroom of children and work in a team.
