About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Business Office Representative to join our team at Surgery Care Affiliates. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our business office.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional support to our facility by performing various business office functions, including medical records, credentialing, admissions, accounts payable, billing, collections, insurance verification, and transaction posting.
  • Schedule surgeries in our computer system, handle calls from physician offices, and ensure that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Answer phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, taking messages and transferring calls to other departments as needed.
  • Perform pre-registration and obtain authorization from physician offices prior to surgery.
  • Maintain accurate logs for cancelled appointments and ensure that all scheduled cases are verified as soon as possible.
  • Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibilities and offer payment options as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in healthcare, with a minimum of one year of experience in surgery scheduling procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a basic knowledge of surgery scheduling, receptionist, and registration responsibilities.
  • Flexibility with hours and ability to work a variety of shifts.
What We Offer
