Your role is crucial in making a positive impact on patient care. We seek a committed Surgical First Assistant Technician PRN to join our dedicated team.

Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

Role Summary: Deliver professional nursing care to patients while collaborating with healthcare team members, including physicians, to ensure high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit knowledge and application of surgical processes in the peri-operative environment.
  • Assist surgeons effectively in the surgical field.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
  • Maintain a supportive environment that promotes quality patient care through efficient resource utilization.
  • Work collaboratively under the direction of the assisting surgeon.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in all interactions.
  • Act as an advocate for patients and families, ensuring confidentiality and privacy.
  • Monitor and document patient responses, recognizing changes in their condition and taking appropriate actions.
  • Seek cost-effective solutions without compromising patient safety or care quality.
  • Utilize the occurrence reporting system to identify and report potential safety issues.
  • Participate in mandatory education and in-service training.
  • Adhere to performance improvement plans aimed at enhancing patient safety.
  • Exhibit reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
  • Completion of a certified Scrub Tech or CSTFA program.
  • BCLS-AHA Healthcare Provider certification required upon hire.
  • CSTFA certification.
  • Experience in acute care settings is essential.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
