About the Role

The Memphis Grizzlies are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our community outreach team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective outreach programs and events that align with our pillars of education, health and fitness, and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement community outreach initiatives to increase visibility and storytelling of the Grizzlies' community efforts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local community organizations throughout the Mid-South to strengthen the relationship between the team and the community.
  • Design and implement education programs that promote STEAM, financial literacy, and reading skills.
  • Plan and execute special events, including setup, vendor relations, equipment rentals, and marketing/communications needs.
  • Support team appearances and assist with game night duties as needed.
  • Provide special project support and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Non-profit Management, Public Relations, Communications, Public Policy, Marketing, Sports Management, or other closely related field.
  • 2-3 years of related experience working in a school or other field focused on student curriculum and advancement.
  • Notable experience within corporate social responsibility, community relations, philanthropy, cause-marketing, nonprofit management.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to multitask.
  • Strong teamwork and cross-group collaboration.
  • Ability to plan and work with minimum supervision, demonstrating a high degree of initiative, and ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of issues and best practices related to education programming and community development.
  • Familiarity with silent auctions and/or fundraising platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and business etiquette; ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers.
  • Comfortable with public speaking at engagements and during events.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
