Job Summary:

Bayforce is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to collaborate with our model developers in producing and maintaining high-quality technical documentation and user manuals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial concepts and be able to translate complex statistical and quantitative information into a standardized format.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret data analysis, technical specifications, statistical methods, business use cases, regulatory guidelines, and internal controls to ensure top-quality technical documentation
  • Collaborate with model developers, subject matter experts, reviewers, and teams from implementation, production, and business sectors to ensure accuracy and clarity in documentation
  • Lead training sessions for employees on standard documentation practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of experience, or Associate's degree and at least 9 years of experience in accounting, auditing, operations, or financial institutions
  • Broad and comprehensive understanding of finance and accounting theories and practices within the commercial banking industry
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts/theory and their relation to profitability reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 4-6 years of proven experience as a Technical Writer or in a similar role, preferably in a quantitative discipline within the banking industry
  • Experience with LaTeX/Sphinx or other documentation tools
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards
  • Working knowledge of the model development process and statistics/quantitative disciplines
  • Experience with Python/SAS and other modeling software
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with tools such as GitHub, Dash, Shiny, and Flask is a plus
  • Understanding of software development processes, agile methodologies, and version control systems
