Roles and Responsibilities

The Cloud Infrastructure Solutions Architect is tasked with evaluating user needs and operational procedures to transition, enhance, and maintain existing systems, while also assessing system-wide functionalities and workflows to effectively oversee and secure extensive systems.

Deliver primary operational support and engineering for the public cloud platform, while troubleshooting and optimizing systems and automating routine processes.

Plan, design, and execute workload migrations from on-premises environments to the AWS Cloud.

Configure, monitor, and assist with the upkeep and support of the infrastructure within the AWS ecosystem.

Configure, fine-tune, and manage AWS services such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Systems Manager, Network Firewall, WAF, Security Group, Tagging, Network ACLs, and Routing Tables.

Establish and maintain Gateway Load Balancer and Internet Gateway.

Set up and oversee VPCs across various Availability Zones, including WFCS and SQL installations and HAG.

Implement and manage backup solutions utilizing AWS native services, which encompass EC2 instances, FSX Servers, diverse S3 storage types, AMI, and Infrastructure as Code scripts like CloudFormation and Terraform.

Configure, automate, and monitor AWS CloudWatch alarms and notifications for system health assessments.

Design, develop, and sustain Executive Level dashboards for system utilization, health, and cost analysis.

Establish and uphold security protocols using tools such as AWS Guard, AWS OU, IAM, CrowdStrike, and Tenable.

Perform environment hardening to comply with regulatory requirements and configuration standards for Pub 1075, PII, and NIST frameworks.

Collaborate with other IT personnel and vendors to address application and/or infrastructure-related challenges within the existing AWS environment.

Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of the current AWS environment concerning storage, backups, and patching.

Engage in the evaluation of new technologies while adhering to departmental IT and security standards.

Effectively communicate with management, colleagues, AMS, and business partners.

Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
