Applied Research & Development (AR&D) involves targeted research aimed at addressing specific challenges or inquiries, alongside multi-disciplinary design, development, and execution of hardware, software, and systems, including ongoing maintenance support. This role provides techno-economic consultancy to clients, characterized by its intricate and detailed nature, systematically merging existing knowledge and practices to enhance and incrementally advance products, operational processes, and tailored feature development.

Research & Development Architecture (RDA) focuses on gathering business, operational, technical, and non-functional requirements from stakeholders, delivering architectures that align with defined needs and constraints. This includes processing use cases and feature requirements into conceptual models, operational scenarios, technical specifications, and functional descriptions. RDA possesses extensive competence in system and product architecture, alongside a comprehensive understanding of ecosystems.

Key Contributions and Learning Opportunities

  • Collaborate with Product Management and various stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and use cases.
  • Engage in customer discussions and technical workshops to present product architecture and capabilities.
  • Lead the evolution of architecture from a holistic perspective, ensuring alignment with business needs and translating vision into reality.
  • Understand the ecosystem and drive solution architecture with a focus on integration and security.
  • Design and implement a robust SaaS architecture on public cloud platforms, facilitating continuous integration and delivery of new features and capabilities.
  • Establish system capabilities for availability, scalability, high performance, and observability.
  • Define and maintain architectural specifications and data models.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and tools to support end-to-end architecture.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the SRE/operations team to ensure successful deployment and operation of end-to-end solutions.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, implementing timely enhancements.
  • Assist in resolving production issues, including root cause analysis and proactive/corrective measures.

Key Skills and Experience

This role contributes to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on business strategy.

Scope & Contribution: As an Individual Contributor, you will independently conduct consulting and specific functional work within a Business Unit/Geography, resolving unique and highly complex problems within your discipline. As a Manager/Supervisor, you will effectively manage resources and develop/implement plans and processes, interpreting policies and establishing procedures.

Innovation: Highly independent and self-directed, you will develop plans and measure effectiveness, assessing customer relationships and service levels. You will have the ability to develop and implement complex and innovative concepts, anticipating problems and seeking opportunities.

Communication: You will communicate with parties both within and outside your job function, requiring the ability to influence others on policies, practices, and procedures. Cross-cultural knowledge and a global mindset are essential.

Knowledge & Experience: This role requires management experience and mastery of a specific professional discipline, combining deep theoretical and practical knowledge. Typically, this involves 12+ years of extensive relevant experience and/or a graduate/postgraduate equivalent degree.
