Job Title: Global Sales Assistant

Destination DC is seeking a highly motivated and organized Global Sales Assistant to join our Convention Sales & Services team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong initiative and work ethic, with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision and rely on experience and judgment to complete tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Convention Sales & Services team, including coordinating hotel and venue site visits for global sales clients.
  • Process expense reports and track team budget usage.
  • Input contacts and leads into Simpleview CRM.
  • Administer sales leads, including qualifying, processing, distribution, and tentative lead follow-up as directed by the Director of Global Sales and Global Sales Manager.
  • File maintenance and upkeep of account management system for global sales team.
  • Prepare special reports, forms, data entry, and management for team sales managers.
  • Administer the gift and collateral inventory of global sales by maintaining the gift storage, tracking the usage of inventory, and ordering materials when needed.
  • Provide additional administrative support, including greeting guests and preparing meeting rooms, updating weekly activity reports and calendars, sorting and distribution of mail, preparing and shipping materials internationally, etc.
  • Coordinate international sales travel and programming for industry conferences, trade shows, and sales missions, including follow-up support with data input for contacts and appointment notes.
  • Coordinate site inspection itineraries, including the scheduling of hotels, venues, and convention center visits; solicit member/partner support where necessary; arrange the logistical aspects of the site inspection.

Requirements:

  • Minimum one (1) year of global business, sales, or marketing experience (including college internship experience).
  • Prior experience handling expense reports, invoicing, and budget maintenance preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), Cvent, database/CRM software, and ability to learn new software programs as directed.
  • Four-year degree from an academic institution in public relations, journalism, marketing, or communications preferred.
  • Superior organizational, project, and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft succinct yet informative emails, ask clarifying questions, and convey professional phone call and email etiquette.
  • Fluency in other languages is a plus.
