We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Territory Sales Representative to join our team at Champion Petfoods. As a key player in our sales team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with retailers and distributors, promoting our premium pet food brands, and driving sales growth in the Chicago and Southern Wisconsin area.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain productive relationships with distributor and retail accounts
- Perform and manage retail store coverage and service frequency
- Manage and control all budgets assigned to retail customers
- Promote brand awareness, increase sales, and boost customer engagement
- Deliver inspired education and training to the distributor sales team, retail partners, and consumers
- Conduct reviews in stores regarding product pricing and distribution
- Implement Champion's merchandising and branding standards
- Work industry shows and weekend events to engage and educate consumers on our brands
- Ride-a-long with Distributor Sales Representatives
- Communicate field activity to the Regional Manager through daily and weekly reporting
- Develop market knowledge with awareness of competitor's offerings
- Outside sales experience, preferably in the pet specialty industry or consumer packaged goods/retail
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships
- Must handle, manage, and overcome objections encountered within the sales process
- Teamwork-focused in a remote work environment with a bias for action
- Proven experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a CRM program
- Experience presenting to large and small groups
- Flexibility to travel up to 50% locally, 4-5 nights per month overnight, with some availability for work events on evenings and weekends
- Occasional ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs
