Job Title: Patient Care Associate

St. Joseph's Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate to join our team. As a Patient Care Associate, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Associate is responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic care to acutely ill patients, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide basic care to acutely ill patients, including vital sign monitoring and medication administration
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, including cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms and equipment
  • Perform EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a High School diploma or equivalent, as well as one of the following certifications or diplomas:

  • PCA/PCT (Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician) diploma with 6 months to 1 year of previous work experience within the last 6 months in an healthcare setting
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • PCA/PCT diploma with National Health Career Association certification
  • EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification
  • Enrolled in an accredited nursing school program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals level coursework in lieu of PCA/PCT diploma/certification
