Job Title: Patient Care Associate

St. Joseph's Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Associate to join our team. As a Patient Care Associate, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Associate is responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic care to acutely ill patients, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide basic care to acutely ill patients, including vital sign monitoring and medication administration
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, including cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms and equipment
  • Perform EKGs and venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of previous work experience in a healthcare setting, or
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, or
  • PCA/PCT diploma with National Health Career Association certification, or
  • EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification, or
  • Enrolled in an accredited nursing school program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals level coursework, or
  • Provides evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamental level coursework, or
  • Evidence of completion in a Nursing Assistant training program, or
  • PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide, or CMA experience
Preferred Requirements:
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Basic Life Support certification
