Role Description:

The Junior Product Manager position is tailored for recent graduates aspiring to evolve into product leaders. At Clipboard Health, Junior Product Managers are expected to take initiative from day one, exercising high levels of ownership and sound judgment. Previous incumbents have successfully streamlined operational processes, developed new pricing algorithms, and independently launched new products. Independently = identifying a challenge → crafting a strategic plan to address it → executing that plan with full accountability.

Our Junior Product Managers are versatile professionals who collaborate closely with our executive team. Rather than arriving with preconceived solutions, they concentrate on the most pressing challenges and quickly formulate innovative solutions based on fundamental principles. This approach necessitates a deep curiosity and a commitment to understanding our business, users, and products from the outset. We believe that this inquisitiveness and ability to delve deeply will empower them to become exceptional contributors and influential leaders.

Ownership is not granted to Junior Product Managers after demonstrating capability; rather, they are expected to spearhead significant projects from the beginning. Their proposals and execution quality are scrutinized at the same level as those of more senior Product Managers. We view hands-on experience and receiving constructive feedback as one of the most effective ways to learn and develop, although this approach may not suit everyone. Initial Responsibilities (First 30 Days):
  • Engage with customers to understand their challenges and identify overlooked issues.
  • Familiarize yourself with the business, product, and operational processes.
  • Design and conduct marketplace experiments to validate assumptions.
  • Produce weekly reports and documentation to keep stakeholders informed.
Responsibilities (First 90 Days):
  • Take ownership of a significant challenge independently.
  • Draft a comprehensive plan (potentially multiple iterations) proposing a solution.
  • Share the plan with relevant stakeholders, gather feedback, and refine it accordingly.
  • Implement the plan and present findings to the executive team.

  • The ability to navigate ambiguity is crucial; you will often encounter tasks that require your judgment to clarify priorities.
