Summary
Under direct supervision, this non-security role involves a variety of tasks related to the preparation and serving of food and beverages. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing salads, sauces, desserts, coffee, and tea. This position also entails standard food service duties, including sanitation tasks and various serving responsibilities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
May be tasked with food and beverage preparation activities such as washing, peeling, slicing vegetables and fruits; preparing simple salads and cutting cakes and pies; brewing coffee, tea, and other beverages. May be responsible for portioning food onto trays or plates and serving beverages. May perform cleaning duties, including washing and sorting dishes, glassware, and utensils; cleaning kitchen equipment, pots, pans, counters, and tables; sweeping and mopping floors. Assists management with basic inventory counts and related information necessary for food and supply orders. Receives deliveries and conducts inventory checks. Responsible for preparing various documentation required for food service operations, including inventory pull sheets, production/service documentation, sanitation records, and meal delivery logs. Aids management in conducting orientation and training for staff and resident workers. Monitors and guides resident workers in tray preparation, cleanup, sanitation, and other duties related to food service operations. Performs additional duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent certification is required. One (1) year of experience in food production within a commercial, military, or institutional environment is preferred. Experience in corrections/detainee management and prior correctional food service training is also preferred. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to maintain records, files, and prepare simple reports as needed.GEO Reentry Services LLC.
